Why ruin a perfectly good bike with a motor?
Posted by Gary Ares
First of all the mission here is help people, so "ruining" a bicycle, well, well, it just doesn't matter. Next, let me state than I am a life long cyclist, I'll spare you the details, but will state that for those who are healthy enought to still be the engine, how about we support those people who are not so fortunate. How about it.
So, why not take one of man's greatest inventions besides fire, or sliced bread and make it available to more people? A bicycle is a realiable, light, and inexpensive means of getting around. Plus, there are millions of bikes on the planet, they're easy to ride, and can be fixed with a few simple tools.
Just for clarity, for this discussion a bike is just about anything that uses pedals, 2 or 3 wheels, and is powered by a human being. Though there are many designs, all the bikes I know are powered by a person's legs or arms.
Let's get back to the title "why ruin a perfectly good bike with a motor?". Answer...to meet the mobility needs of millions of people who are also looking for a healthier lifestyle, want to help the planet, to spend more time with family and friends, and all the things cyclists do, but need a little help from a motor. Remember, it's not about the bike, it IS about the people.
Motorizing man's greatest invention isn't new by any means. What is new are the technological advancements, like a stronger - longer lasting battery, to extend the range of the trip which makes electric powered bikes available to the masses. What a great day for so many people for whom a simple extra push means new found freedom.
For those who disagree with this idea please take a moment and think of someone who could be helped, and how happy they could be, riding a bike or trike, maybe for the first time .
Thank you for coming by and for reading this far. It is my hope that you like the menu so far, and will come back for more.
